Western Michigan from the Indiana border up to Traverse Bay — the Lake Michigan-side of the Lower Peninsula's 'mitten' shape. Includes Berrien County (the southwest-Michigan fruit-belt anchor), Allegan and Van Buren counties (blueberry country), Ottawa and Muskegon counties (the Grand Rapids metro fruit-belt extension), Mason and Oceana counties. Distinct from the directory's existing `lake-michigan-west` (Wisconsin shore) and `grand-traverse-bay` (the very-north tip) bioregions — this covers the long lake-shore stretch in between.
