Concept
The Directory
Also known as: 0mn1.one Directory, Directory, The 0mn1 Directory
The 0mn1.one directory — a graph-backed listing of aligned businesses worldwide, filtered by what they do to the substrates (soil, water, microbiome, attention, kinship) rather than by industry. Every listing is a wiki node in the same graph as the practices, plants, and concepts it touches. Open to aligned operators anywhere; bioregions are conjured on demand to anchor new regions.
What this is
The directory is the surface of 0mn1one that points at aligned commerce. It is rendered live at /directory — grouped by bioregion, then by tier — and every listing on that page is also a wiki entry in the same graph as the practices, species, ideas, and places it touches.
This wiki node is the hub: every listed business carries a directory wikilink, so the Obsidian graph view shows every listing wired back to this page. The directory page (the Astro-rendered one at /directory) is the interface; this wiki entry is the concept.
What the directory is filtered by
Not industry. Substrate-impact. Every industry has aligned and extractive operators — the filter is the work, not the label. Listings are organized into four tiers:
- Substrate-builders. Operations that build soil, water, microbiome, fiber, shelter — the substrates everything else stands on. Farms, mycology operations, hempcrete builders, watershed restorers.
- Circulators. Operations that move resources without depleting them. CSAs, co-ops, repair shops, refill stores, secondhand, salvage, vegan bakeries, natural-foods grocers.
- Knowledge & care. Skill-share, herbalists, midwives, libraries, land trusts, mutual-aid networks, independent media, yoga and meditation studios.
- Aligned services. Honest practitioners across the long tail — lawyers, builders, designers, mechanics — keeping people functioning.
A business can be more than one tier at once (an orchard that also runs a bakery and a CSA is substrate-builder and circulator). Listings are filed under their primary tier and the relations link back to the others.
How a listing earns its place
The single load-bearing rule: under-listing beats vouching. Every published entry has a substantive “Why it’s listed” section written from research, not from marketing copy. If a substantive case cannot be made, the entry is rejected rather than filled with placeholder. This is what keeps the directory from becoming a Yelp clone.
The full ingest pattern lives at _knowledge/playbooks/bioregion-small-business-densification.md (vault path); the bioregion-stub-on-demand process that lets the directory anchor new regions as listings arrive lives at _knowledge/playbooks/bioregion-stub-on-demand.md.
Bioregions
The directory is geographically open. Aligned businesses get listed regardless of bioregion, and when a listing’s region has no wiki entry yet, the bioregion entry is conjured on the spot so every region the directory touches becomes a real node — none orphaned, all available for future listings to attach to. As of 2026-05-11, bioregions with directory anchors include poconos, staten-island, new-orleans, hudson-highlands, driftless-area, sea-islands, harrington-delaware, kittatinny-ridge, shawangunk-ridge, brandywine-valley, lackawanna-valley, and schuylkill-valley.
Why this graph shape matters
Most business directories are flat lists. The 0mn1.one directory is a graph: every listed business connects upward to its bioregion entry, sideways to its tier-peers, downward to the practices, plants, and ideas it touches, and through this hub node to the directory itself. The Obsidian graph view shows this directly — businesses cluster around the hub, bioregions cluster around their constituents, and the full shape of the work becomes legible at a glance.
This is the point of putting the directory inside the wiki rather than alongside it.

What links here, and how
Inbound connections from across the wiki, grouped by lens and by relationship. These appear automatically — every entity page declares what it links to, and that data populates here on the targets.
