Silvopasture
An agroforestry practice integrating livestock grazing with managed tree canopy on the same land. Trees provide shade, fodder (in the case of fodder-tree species), windbreak, timber or fruit yield, and carbon sequestration; livestock provide grazing, manure cycling, and an immediate income stream during the long timeline of tree maturation. Properly designed silvopasture produces measurably more total biomass and economic yield per acre than separate pastoral and forestry operations on the same land.
